About ME
Mickel Spencer, a professional boxer with a passion for making an impact both inside and outside the ring.
Boxing Career
I started my boxing journey at a young age of 6 years old, competing in amateur boxing and achieving great success:
Multiple state and regional championships
4-Time National Champion
From the age of 12 to 15, I trained at Virgil Hunter’s renowned gym, where I had the incredible opportunity to train alongside and learn from some of the best in the sport, including:
Andre Ward: Undefeated former professional boxer, held multiple world championships in two weight classes, including unified super middleweight and light heavyweight titles.
Mario Barrios: Former WBA (Regular) super lightweight champion and current WBC welterweight champion.
Andre Berto: Two-time former welterweight world champion.
Amir Khan: Former unified light-welterweight world champion and Olympic silver medalist.
Andre Dirrell: Olympic bronze medalist and former interim IBF super middleweight champion.
Peter Quillin: Former WBO middleweight champion.
Tony Yoka: Olympic gold medalist in super heavyweight boxing.
Marlen Esparza: Olympic bronze medalist and current WBC female flyweight champion.
Nicola Adams: Two-time Olympic gold medalist and former WBO female flyweight champion.
Souleymane Cissokho: Olympic bronze medalist and professional boxer competing in the super welterweight division.
Danny Jacobs: Two-time middleweight world champion.
Andrzej Fonfara: Former IBO light heavyweight champion.
At 16, I transitioned out of amateur boxing to prepare for my professional debut, which took place when I was 17 on the Pacquiao vs. Ugas undercard. As of now, my professional record stands at 4-0 (3 KOs) with 1 no-contest due to an accidental head clash.
Giving Back
Outside the ring, I’m dedicated to helping others. I founded a young adult ministry called Soldiers In Christ (SIC), though it’s currently on hold as I focus on a new project: Protect The Youth. This initiative aims to raise awareness about mental health, particularly among young people. It’s a cause close to my heart, and I’m excited to see it grow.
